CBD From Hemp

The cannabis plant offers so much more than the cerebral high that occurs from THC. While that’s obviously a crowd-pleaser, there are many more subtle healing properties of this magical herb that we’re only starting to truly understand.

It’s only been in recent decades that the drug war hysteria has abated enough for people to be able to take a serious look at cannabis once again, and what we’ve found is that there’s another star molecule in our favorite plant.

CBD, or Cannabidiol, is a natural compound found in cannabis. Just like THC, it has many benefits for the human body. But unlike THC, it does not get you high or impair you.  What it does is positively affect the human endocannabinoid system, helping many people to live better, happier lives through improved mental and physical states.

For the past few years, CBD that has been derived from hemp has been completely legal in the United States. Hemp is simply cannabis that has THC levels below an extremely low threshold: 0.3%. (Check out the FAQ for more information.)

More and more people are discovering that supplementing with CBD can be a very effective part of healthy living and daily yoga regimen, whether or not they also include THC-containing ganja in their practice.

Using topicals and tinctures is a practical way to enhance with CBD throughout the day, and I recommend these to all of my clients, especially those new to cannabis and wanting to enjoy the health benefits without the altered state.
